Circle of Hope gets its power from its simplicity.
People gather together, hold hands and form a large human circle.
For a few moments, strangers become part of something shared.
Artist and Founder of Human Connection Arts, Andy Golub created this project in response to today’s increasing feelings of uncertainty, division, isolation, and disconnection. Rather than focusing on politics, ideology or conflict so prevalent in modern life, Circle of Hope gathers people from all backgrounds to step out of their routines and experience a moment of trust, cooperation and human connection.
The experience lasts 15–20 minutes and can include:
- Live musical or dance performance
- People sharing their hopes with the group
- Quiet reflection
- Group vocal harmonies
Prior to the Circle, activities may include:
- Interactive art activities
- Face and arm painting
- Community participation activities
The project is designed to be flexible and easy to coordinate. Circle of Hope can take place at:
- Music festivals
- Art festivals
- Parks
- Schools and universities
- Community gatherings
- Public art events
- Wellness and retreat spaces
- Urban public spaces
Circle of Hope is the latest project of Human Connection Arts, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating interactive public art experiences that encourage human connection, public participation and creative expression.
